We’ve tested the D-Max in entry-level and flagship trim levels and found both ends of the spectrum hugely likeable and well-suited to their intended audience. The 1.9-litre RZ4E diesel engine feels punchy on the move, and the chassis is composed and grippy. It boasts a smart interior too, with plenty of luxuries. Isuzu’s five-year/125,000-mile warranty is the clincher, as is its smooth six-speed automatic gearbox and 3500kg towing ability.
